About TripStow
TripStow is a travel app that builds your trips from the booking emails you forward to it, then turns every journey into a lifetime travel log, a scratch-off world map, flight stats and badges.
TripStow is for people who travel often and want their plans in one place without typing them in: frequent flyers, cruise passengers, people who travel for work, and anyone who likes to count the countries, airports and planes they have been to.
Why does TripStow exist?
Travel plans arrive in pieces: a flight confirmation here, a hotel booking there, a train ticket as a PDF. TripStow puts them back together, so the whole trip is in one place the moment you book.
The second reason is memory. Every trip you take also becomes part of a lifetime travel log, so your map, your stats and the planes you have flown on build themselves instead of living in a spreadsheet.
How does TripStow work?
You forward booking emails to a private address. TripStow reads each one, with its rules-based reader or with AI (enhanced scanning), and files the plans into day-by-day trips. Once you are home, each trip feeds your scratch-off map, stats, badges, Hangar and Dock.
TripStow runs in any modern web browser and can be added to a phone's home screen, where it opens full screen like an app and can send push notifications (on iPhone this needs iOS 16.4 or later). There is no App Store or Google Play app yet.
What are TripStow's privacy principles?
TripStow is built privacy first, and the rules are enforced in the database, not just the app.
- Future trips are never public. Public profiles, share cards and leaderboards only ever show past travel, and only if you switch them on.
- Community figures are aggregates only. A flight or route only appears in TripStow travellers' figures once at least 3 different travellers have flown it, from flights at least a week old. No single booking is ever published.
- Loyalty numbers are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and masked. For travel documents, only the expiry date and last four characters are stored.
- TripStow never asks for, or stores, passwords to other services such as loyalty programmes.
- Every email is checked (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) before it is read, so nobody can slip a fake booking into your account.
- Your data is yours: export everything as a CSV file, delete your travel data, or delete your account, from Settings.
Where does TripStow's public data come from?
TripStow's public flight, route and airport pages use US Department of Transportation on-time data (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, public domain) and anonymised aggregates of past flights logged by TripStow travellers. Every source, map and open-source library TripStow uses is credited on the notices and credits page.
