How do I make a map of the countries I have visited?

Click each country on the map, or tick it in the list below the map. The count and the share of the world update as you go, and the link in your address bar always holds your map, so you can bookmark it or send it to someone.

How many countries are there in the world?

This map measures against 195: the 193 member states of the United Nations plus its two observer states, the Holy See and Palestine. Territories such as Puerto Rico or Greenland can be ticked too, but the percentage is out of 195.

Do I need an account?

No. Nothing is stored: your list lives in the link. Sign up only if you want TripStow to fill the map in for you from your booking emails and keep it up to date.

Can I share my map on Instagram, X or WhatsApp?

Yes. Download the picture in a square, story or wide format, or copy the link: when you paste it into X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Facebook, the preview shows your map.

Does a stopover count as visiting a country?

That is up to you. Some people count a country once they have landed, others only once they have left the airport. In a TripStow account you can choose either way in Settings.
