Best for a flight log, travel stats and trip itineraries in one place, on iPhone and Android.

Forward booking emails and TripStow builds the trip, then adds every flight to a lifetime log: distance, hours, countries, airports, airlines, aircraft types and the tail number of each plane, with a scratch-off world map coloured by air, sea or overland travel. Past flights can be imported from LogMyFlight, myFlightradar24, OpenFlights or a CSV file. It has no App Store or Google Play app yet; it is a web app that installs on a phone's home screen.

Best for live flight tracking with a flight log on iPhone.

Flighty is the strongest live flight tracker, and its Passport keeps a flight history with distance, destinations, hours and aircraft. It can import App in the Air export files, as well as myFlightradar24, OpenFlights and others; flights older than a year need Pro. There is no Android app.^[2][3][4][5]

Best for a free flight logbook on the web.

myFlightradar24 is a free personal flight log with a route map and stats on airports, aircraft and CO2. Flights can be added by hand or imported from TripIt, OpenFlights or a CSV file. It has no mobile app and no flight alerts.^[6]

Best for itineraries built from booking emails, with flight alerts on the paid plan.

TripIt builds itineraries from forwarded emails or Inbox Sync and keeps travel stats on the free plan. Live flight status alerts are part of TripIt Pro. It does not keep a plane-by-plane flight log.^[7][8]

Best for free flight status push alerts.

FlightAware's free app sends push alerts for departures, arrivals, delays, gate changes, cancellations and diversions. It is a tracker, not a personal log or itinerary app.^[9]

App in the Air was removed from the App Store, Google Play and Galaxy Store on 19 September 2024, and data export and support ended on 19 October 2024, according to heise online.^[1]

No. App in the Air left the app stores on 19 September 2024 and its servers were switched off in October 2024.

Which app can import my App in the Air history?

Flighty lists App in the Air export files among its imports. TripStow imports flight logs from LogMyFlight, myFlightradar24, OpenFlights and CSV files.

What is the best App in the Air alternative for Android?

TripStow works on Android as an installable web app and keeps a flight log, stats and itineraries. TripIt and FlightAware also have Android apps. Flighty does not.
