Everything TripStow does
TripStow is a travel app that builds your trips from the booking emails you forward to it. Every trip then feeds a lifetime travel log: a scratch-off world map, flight stats, badges, and a Hangar of every plane you have flown on.
Most of it is free. TripStow Pro adds live flight data, unlimited enhanced email scanning and planners who can edit your trips. Here is every feature, what it does, and which plan it is on.
How does TripStow build a trip from an email?
FreeYou forward a booking confirmation to your private TripStow address, and TripStow turns it into a day-by-day trip. Flights, hotels, trains, ferries, car hire and cruises are all read, including attached PDF tickets, calendar invites (.ics) and wallet passes (.pkpass).
Each plan files itself into the right trip, in each place's local time, with connections worked out. You get a short email back saying what was added and where it went. A change, delay or cancellation email updates the plan you already have instead of adding a second one.
A forwarding address is a private email address that belongs to your TripStow account. Anything sent to it is read and added to your trips. You can also send bookings to plans@tripstow.com from any email address you have confirmed. TripStow checks that each email really came from you (SPF and DKIM) before it reads it.
What is enhanced trip email scanning?
Free, more with ProEnhanced trip email scanning is TripStow's AI reading of a forwarded email. Standard scanning is the rules-based reader. Free accounts get 10 enhanced scans a month; Pro is unlimited.
On a free account the standard reader goes first. Enhanced scanning only steps in when the standard reader is not sure it has every detail right, for example an unusual layout or a change notice. With Pro, every forwarded email gets enhanced scanning, so unusual layouts, PDF tickets and changes come out right first time.
Anything TripStow is unsure about goes to a review queue in your inbox, so you can check it before it counts.
What is the scratch-off travel map?
FreeTripStow's map is a scratch-off world map built from your real trips. Every country starts under the foil, and once you are home you scratch it off. Countries are coloured by how you got there: by air, by sea, overland, or just passing through.
You can zoom right in to detailed borders, tap a pin for the cities you visited, replay your travels in order, and add a visit for a trip that never had a booking. A flag wall shows the flag of every country you have been to.
You decide whether a change of planes counts as a visit, with the "Count airport connections as visits" setting.
What travel stats and badges does TripStow track?
FreeTripStow counts your distance flown (and how many times that is around the Earth and to the Moon), hours in the air, time zones, countries, airports, airlines, aircraft types, individual planes and estimated CO2. There are year charts, a day and hour heatmap, your busiest months, top routes, cabins and records.
Badges come in levels from bronze to legend for flights, countries and airports, plus about 30 one-off badges for moments like a red-eye or flying the same plane twice. Your overall level sits on top.
What are the Hangar and the Dock?
Free, more with ProThe Hangar is your collection of every individual plane you have flown on, by tail number, with a photo of the actual aircraft, its age, and which ones you have been on more than once. The Dock does the same for ships: every ship you have sailed on, with nights at sea and ports of call.
Tail numbers come from your imported flight log or, with Pro, are found on the day you fly. Pro also looks up every port of call on your cruise from the ship and dates.
Can TripStow tell me if my flight is usually late?
FreeYes. Trip timelines show how punctual each flight usually is, for example "Usually 20 minutes late", where there is enough data. You also get a reminder the moment online check-in opens for each flight.
Your stats page builds your own on-time record from your past flights. On time means arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, the US Department of Transportation definition.
Does TripStow send live flight alerts?
ProYes, with TripStow Pro. Pro sends alerts when your gate is assigned or changes, when your flight is delayed by 15 minutes or more (and again if the delay grows), when the terminal changes, and when a flight is cancelled or diverted. When you land it tells you which baggage belt to go to.
Alerts arrive by email and as push notifications on every device you switch on. Pro also records the tail number of the exact plane you are on, and the real departure and landing times, so your on-time record builds itself.
What is the TripStow Wallet?
Free, more with ProThe Wallet keeps your airline and hotel loyalty programmes in one place, with your membership numbers, tiers, balances and expiry dates. Loyalty numbers found in your forwarded booking emails are added for you.
Loyalty numbers are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and shown masked until you tap to reveal them. For travel documents such as passports, TripStow stores only the expiry date and the last four characters. With Pro, it checks each passport against your trips, warns you when one will have less than six months left, and emails you before your status or a document expires.
TripStow never asks for, or stores, the passwords to your loyalty accounts.
Can I share trips with a partner or a PA?
Free, more with ProYes. Add a travel partner by email address and choose whether they see one trip or all of them. They sign in with that address and find your trips under "Shared with you". Partners never see your stats, Wallet, documents, emails or unfiled plans.
With Pro you can make someone a planner, such as a PA, travel manager or partner. Planners can add and change plans, notes and times on trips you share with them. Only you can merge, split, move or delete trips.
What is TripStow's Year in Review?
FreeYear in Review is a tap-through story of your travel year: distance flown, new countries, your most-flown route and more. It is made for sharing.
Share cards turn your stats into images (My world, My flights, My year) in square, story and wide sizes, ready for Instagram or WhatsApp. They only ever show past travel, never upcoming trips.
Can I see my trips in my calendar?
FreeYes. TripStow gives you a private calendar feed (iCal) that you subscribe to once in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. New and changed plans then appear in your calendar by themselves.
The feed address is secret and belongs to you. You can find it in Settings.
Can I import my past flights?
FreeYes. TripStow imports flight logs from LogMyFlight, myFlightradar24 and OpenFlights, and generic CSV files. It removes duplicates, fills in what is missing on a later import, groups flights into trips, and can undo an import.
Your whole history then counts towards your map, stats, Hangar and badges. You can export all your plans as a CSV file at any time.
Where can I check whether a flight is usually on time?
FreeOn TripStow's public flight stats pages, which anyone can read without an account. There is a page for every flight number, route and airport in the data, answering questions like "Is this flight usually on time?", "Which airline is most punctual on this route?" and "How punctual is this airport?"
The figures come from US Department of Transportation on-time data (the last 12 published months, for US airlines' domestic flights) and, where enough people have flown it, anonymised past flights logged by TripStow travellers. Each page states its period and source.
The TripStow blog publishes a monthly US flight punctuality report ranking airlines, routes, airports and flight numbers, plus guides to using TripStow.
