How to add TripStow to your iPhone or Android home screen
The short answer: TripStow is a web app, so there is nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play. Open tripstow.com on your phone, add it to your home screen, and it opens full screen with its own icon, like any other app. It updates itself, takes almost no space, and on iPhone it is also what lets TripStow send you flight alerts.
Each way takes under a minute. The pictures are simple sketches of the screens, with the button to tap ringed.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open tripstow.com in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the ⋯ (More) button next to the address bar, then Share. On iOS 18 and earlier, or if your address bar is at the top, tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up) directly.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen. If you cannot see it, tap Edit Actions or More at the bottom of the list and add it.
- On iOS 26, leave Open as Web App switched on, so TripStow opens full screen rather than as a Safari tab. Tap Add.
- Open TripStow from the new icon on your home screen. You stay signed in.
Using Chrome on your iPhone? Tap the Share button in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen. This works on iOS 16.4 and later.
Android (Chrome)
- Open tripstow.com in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then Add to home screen. On some phones it says Install app instead. Chrome may also offer to install TripStow in a bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose Install (not “Create shortcut”, which opens a normal browser tab), then confirm.
- TripStow appears on your home screen and in your app list. Open it from there.
On a Samsung phone using Samsung Internet: tap the menu (three lines) at the bottom right, then Add page to, then Home screen.
Switch on flight alerts on your phone
With Pro, TripStow tells you about delays and cancellations as they happen and nudges you when boarding is about to start, plus gate changes and your baggage belt where the airport publishes them. Check-in reminders come on every plan. To get them as notifications as well as emails:
- Open TripStow from the home screen icon. On iPhone this matters: Apple only allows notifications from web apps that are on the home screen, not from Safari tabs.
- Go to Settings, then On your phone, and tap Turn on notifications on this device.
- Tap Allow when your phone asks, then Send a test to check it works.
Do this once on each phone or tablet you want alerts on. Each device is listed in Settings, where you can turn it off again.
Questions
Is it the same as an app from the App Store?
It looks and behaves like one: its own icon, full screen, no browser bars, and it appears in the app switcher. The difference is that it comes straight from tripstow.com, so it is always the latest version and needs no updates.
Notifications are not arriving on my iPhone
Check you opened TripStow from the home screen icon, not from Safari, and that you are on iOS 16.4 or later. Then look in the iPhone's Settings, Notifications, TripStow, and make sure they are allowed. Focus modes can hold notifications back too.
How do I remove it?
Press and hold the icon, then choose Remove App on iPhone, or Uninstall on Android. Your trips stay safe in your account and are there when you next sign in.
